Most do, but we’d advise you to bring cash just in case, as not all artists have access to a card reader.
Some artists are opening a room or two in their house, others have a garden or garage studio. There should be signage outside directing you where to go – hopefully this will be obvious. If the door’s closed and there’s nothing saying otherwise, please knock and wait to be let in – don’t just walk in if the door’s not open.
Please respect the artists’ space and privacy. Don’t touch everything, and only go where it’s obvious you’re invited to go – this isn’t a chance to have a nosy around someone’s whole house, however tempting that may be!
Don’t monopolise the artists’ time, or spend hours at one person’s house. Remember it’s their private space, and while they’re very keen to have you visit, please don’t outstay your welcome.
Some artists may be offering food or drink, but not everyone will, so please be certain those snacks are for everyone before you tuck in!
The Glass Loft and The Langton Pub are only accessible via stairs, but St Anne’s House and St Luke’s Church Hall are wheelchair accessible. Many studios are in people’s homes, gardens or garages, so might only be accessed via steps or uneven surfaces. If you plan to visit a specific venue, please contact them beforehand to check on access.
There is parking at or close to most of our community venues, but as a lot of the home venues are on residential streets, parking may be limited. We recommend, where possible, walking, cycling or taking public transport.
There are a number of bus services that go to different parts of the trail. It can all be done on foot too, but be prepared for quite a lot of walking!

All the free art and craft workshops are free to attend and are drop-in sessions that don’t need to be pre-booked. Numbers are limited though, so it’s a good idea to arrive at a venue before the workshop starts to make sure you can take part.
Some of the workshops are paid-for workshops that require pre-booking via email – see the Workshops page for full details
All the community venues should have arts trail maps available and some of the home venues will have copies too. The These Two Hands shop at 83 Sandy Park Road is the arts trail map hub, so you will definitely be able to get a copy from there. If you can’t get a printed map, you can download the full map on the homepage of our website.
Send us an email bs4artstrail@gmail.com if you’d like to be involved in the 2025 arts trail.
